General Summary: This is a salaried position in Manteno, IL. that reports to the Warehouse Manager. The Warehouse/Inventory assistant manager assists the Warehouse Manager in coordinating the receiving, shipping, & material handling responsibilities in the warehouse by designing & developing product movement & storage systems, improving operations, & supporting team members in a hands-on manner. This position is also responsible for managing the plant-wide cycle count program. The accuracy of that inventory, and investigation/explanation of any inventory discrepancies. Scope of the Job Function: Assist Manager in establishing operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming & outgoing Shipments, handling & disposition of materials, & keeping warehouse inventory current. Assists in investigations into causes of customer or shipper complaints & responds accordingly. Assist in the training of employees, assigning & directing work, and addressing employee relations matters. Assist in assigning duties & examine work for quality & conformance to policies & procedures. Supervise Shipping, Receiving & Material Handling teams & oversee the daily logistics operations, carrier arrangements, shipping, tracing, appointment times, & PO status updates. Support with supervision of truck loading, order picking accuracy, & receiving. Keep a daily inventory of all products, coordinates all warehouse employees in their daily job duties. Responsible for all organization & appearance of the warehouse. Generate daily inventory cycle count sheets based on ABC analysis for raw materials & finished goods for the Manteno facility. Reconcile inventory variances & make inventory count adjustments upon Management approval. Reports inventory discrepancies & shortages to Management daily. Find, research, & resolve root causes of inventory inaccuracies. Collaborate with Production to ensure inventory accuracy. Process cycle count requests. Manages aging inventory. Maintain records of all inventory transfers & disposals. Performs various duties to assist in the month-end closing process & procedures. Performs periodic Physical Inventory counts semi-annually. Request shelf-life extensions for certain products & perform system maintenance to keep accurate records. Issue inventory related forms when needed – CDR, stock conversion. Non-inventoried items cycle count & re-ordering. Tank Farm cycle counts. Interface with the Supply Chain Department to manage inventory control & maintain high levels of accuracy in inventory integrity. Assure FIFO system is in control, assist production in all their ingredient needs using pick lists, FIFO system, & product traceability procedures. Assist the Manager with Month End closing process with staff. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
