About The Position

The Warehouse I position at American Tire Distributors involves prioritizing and picking products to fill orders, staging products for loading, and physically moving and lifting items up to 150 pounds. Responsibilities also include organizing warehouse stock, assisting in daily warehouse closing, compiling reports on damaged or outdated stock, over/under-shipments, and vendor returns. The role requires assisting in periodic inventory counts and safely operating powered industrial vehicles like forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers, maintaining an operator license if required. Requirements

  • High School or GED degree
  • Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers) safely and maintain necessary licenses.
  • Ability to physically move and lift product weighing as much as 150 pounds, and handle products up to approximately 50 pounds, managing heavier items through rolling, destacking, or team lifting.
  • Ability to operate equipment to assist in loading and unloading.
  • Ability to perform data entry and use hand-held devices.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and pick materials for order fulfillment, staging them for loading.
  • Physically move and lift product weighing as much as 150 pounds, and handle products up to approximately 50 pounds, managing heavier items through rolling, destacking, or team lifting.
  • Organize warehouse stock by product line and physical alignment, ensuring adequate space for overflow.
  • Assist in daily closing down of warehouse and administrative tasks such as paperwork handling.
  • Compile and submit regular reports of damaged, outdated stock or supplies, over- and under-shipments, and return of products to vendor; segregate defective items from regular inventory flow.
  • Assist in periodic inventory counts and verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing products regarding quantity, size, and type; report inventory shortages to management.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers) safely, maintaining necessary licenses.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks.
  • Perform routine facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks, including cleaning parking lots, loading docks, and surrounding areas; maintain clear floors and tidy bathrooms.
  • Perform data entry of product numbers and use hand-held devices for product placement and inventory accuracy.
