About The Position

The Warehouse/Fulfillment Supervisor is responsible for coaching and guiding a team of employees to achieve optimum levels of productivity, quality, and safety while meeting operational deadlines and budgets. This includes recruiting and hiring qualified employees, ensuring they receive necessary training, and maintaining a motivational work environment. The supervisor must take corrective action for poor performance and behavior that impacts the team's objectives. The role involves direct interaction on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant manager, sales staff, and warehouse personnel.
  • Ability to understand equipment and tolerances from past experience.
  • Warehouse experience with forklift, packing, and measuring.
  • Successful leadership and team building skills.
  • Knowledge of metals handling preferred.
  • First aid and CPR training preferred.
  • Exposure to labor relations, safety programs, ISO standards, lean practices preferred.
  • Safety mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 - 3 years previous supervisory experience in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all production and distribution objectives and deadlines within the established budget.
  • Manage inventory control including cycle counting and audits.
  • Track inventory damage and submit claims for damaged inventory.
  • Monitor claim returns and research root causes for continuous improvements.
  • Provide guidance on quality acceptance and rejection.
  • Establish and maintain strong communication with suppliers and customers.
  • Teach, coach, and demonstrate work activities for team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary functions.
  • Coordinate, assign, and review work.
  • Direct staff on priority of work to be accomplished.
  • Ensure all team members receive required instruction in safety procedures and workplace policies.
  • Maintain effective communication with all internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Keep effective records and perform administrative duties as required.
  • Report any accidents or incidents that occur within the facility.
  • Monitor working conditions to ensure safety and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques to resolve personnel and quality issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager.
