About The Position
The Warehouse Forklift Operator position at Bob's Discount Furniture is a full-time role that requires a comprehensive understanding of both shipping and receiving processes. The operator will be responsible for various tasks that include picking up products from staging areas and offloading them onto rack shelving units, floor locations, or stack racks. This role demands flexibility in job assignments and the ability to work efficiently in both shipping and receiving capacities. The operator will utilize RF units for scanning merchandise accurately during the placement and retrieval of products, ensuring that all items are accounted for and properly stored. In addition to the operational tasks, the Warehouse Forklift Operator must maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols while operating material handling equipment. The position requires a high degree of physical activity, including significant lifting, standing, and walking. Operators must be comfortable with heights and capable of operating industrial lift equipment, such as order pickers, forklifts, and tuggers. The job also necessitates effective communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed instructions, as well as familiarity with commonly used concepts and practices in warehouse operations. The work environment is fast-paced and light industrial, with multiple schedule and shift options available, including day, evening, and night shifts. The operator must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, as determined by departmental needs. The pay for this position starts at $18.00 per hour, with opportunities for overtime as needed.
