The Opportunity This position works out of our Waukegan, IL location in the GES, Global Engineering Services division. M-F, 5:45 am – 2:15 pm. This position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation and organization of the Tool Crib (approximately 70% of the role), ensuring tools, equipment, and consumables are properly issued, tracked, maintained, and available to support warehouse and maintenance operations. Secondarily (approximately 30% of the role), this position supports the delivery driver team by completing scheduled and as-needed deliveries.

Requirements

  • Valid Class C Driver’s License issued by the State of Illinois.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in a tool crib, warehouse, maintenance, or inventory role preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Basic computer skills; experience with inventory systems or CMMS preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of the Tool Crib, including issuing, receiving, tracking, and returning tools and equipment
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of tools, equipment, and consumables
  • Inspect tools and equipment for damage, wear, or safety concerns and remove unsafe tools from service
  • Coordinate repair, calibration, or replacement of tools as required
  • Ensure proper cleaning, organization, and storage of tools and equipment
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to leadership
  • Enforce tool control procedures and accountability standards
  • Support maintenance and operations teams with timely access to required tools
  • Maintain Tool Crib housekeeping and safety standards
  • Perform local deliveries and pickups as assigned
  • Load, secure, and transport packages, materials, or equipment safely
  • Operate company vehicles in accordance with company policies and traffic laws
  • Complete all required delivery documentation accurately and on time
  • Communicate delivery status, delays, or issues to supervision
  • Assist with warehouse and operational tasks when not performing deliveries
