About The Position

The Warehouse Driver will be responsible for modeling and promoting Sendik's culture by consistently providing “best in class” service to our guests. The main responsibility of the Warehouse Driver is to operate a medium-sized truck, known as a box truck, to transport goods to Sendik's locations, including loading and unloading cargo, planning delivery routes, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle upkeep, and adhering to all safety regulations while providing excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients and dispatchers.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age due to required operation of Warehouse equipment
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Ability to work in different temperature zones, including cold environments (i.e., coolers, freezers)
  • Strong sense of team - ability to anticipate the needs of the team
  • Ability to work at a fast paced and efficient manner
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions, priorities and circumstances
  • Ability to maintain composure, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities, under general supervision
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • CDL A or B License preferred
  • 1-3 years of box truck driving experience preferred
  • Prior warehouse experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve customers throughout the store locations while modeling Sendik's culture and providing “best in class” customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, delighting and thanking every guest for their business
  • Safely operate a box truck to deliver goods to designated destinations according to established routes and schedules
  • Manually load and unload cargo using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other equipment as needed.
  • Plan efficient delivery routes to optimize time and mileage
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pick-ups, and any incidents.
  • Interact professionally with customers at delivery points, providing excellent customer service
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery updates and any issues encountered
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
