PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under general supervision, responsible for driving district vehicles to deliver products and/or pick up products or as directed to meet the needs of the district. Additionally, this position fulfills all functions within the warehouse or other locations as needed. All duties to be performed to maximize availability of the district’s resources to provide equitable learning opportunities for all students and ensure safety and quality services. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred Valid Texas driver’s Class C license, required Clear driving record, required Certified forklift operator, preferred (required within 45 days of employment) Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions Knowledge of material handling equipment such as 2-wheel hand trucks, hydraulic hand pallet trucks, etc. Knowledge of general shipping and receiving procedures Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations Knowledge of accounting for inventory Ability to operate mailroom equipment Proficiency in Computers and Microsoft Office Experience: Two (2) years in a warehouse shipping/receiving/delivery position, preferred Workdays: 242 Pay Grade: Auxiliary Pay Structure 4 Pay Date: Monthly Hourly Pay Range: Minimum: $14.80 Midpoint: $17.62 Maximum: $20.44 Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform general warehousing, pick-up and delivery activities as directed. Keep the warehouse clean and safe, keep assigned vehicles and equipment clean, safe and in working order. Maintain a positive, collaborative and cooperative working environment with co-workers and team leaders. Unload incoming shipments, follow procedures to receive incoming shipments and ensure that receiving is accurate, timely and recorded appropriately. Stage incoming shipments for cross-docking or process incoming shipments into inventory and stock merchandise with accuracy and speed. Conduct physical inventories of warehouse and other buildings, as directed, and perform data entry tasks as needed to maintain accurate inventory records. Identify and report excess or slow-moving inventory items. Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and/or electric pallet jack for movement of supplies as needed. Compile data from multiple sources, as needed, such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and accounting reports and enter information into system to maintain accurate inventory. Pull inventory, as needed, load vehicles and safely transport deliveries; follow procedures to load vehicles efficiently and ensure deliveries are accurate, timely and delivered with quality service. Keep vehicle(s) and equipment fueled in accordance with procedures, perform preventative maintenance on assigned vehicle(s) and equipment and notify department leader of needed safety issues and repairs. Assist with capital asset and textbook inventory by tagging, recording and delivering inventory as needed. Assist with mailroom services by picking-up, sorting and delivering mail to all campuses and departments. Assist with disposals by collecting items from various locations, processing and delivering as requested. Follow all required safety procedures and alert team leaders when safety issues are identified. Safeguard inventory, supplies and equipment against theft and damage. Work all shift schedules as needed; be available to work weekends and non-calendar work days as needed. Maintain professional learning by attending trainings and meetings as requested. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
