About The Position
To operate a box truck or similar vehicle to pick up and deliver parts, materials, and finished products. To service customers in the local area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Valid driver’s license and approved driving record by insuring company.
- Company certification in forklift driving.
- Ability to read directions and use a street map to plot delivery route.
- Ability to maintain simple logs and records.
- Ability to carry out work instructions without constant supervision.
Responsibilities
- Loads trucks with required parts, purchase or manufactured.
- Determines most efficient order of delivery and prepares schedule showing order to be followed.
- Delivers orders and receives proper payments.
- Maintains simple records of deliveries and truck mileage.
- Flows maintenance schedule for having truck serviced. Take other vehicles for service when instructed to do so. Reports any mechanical problems to supervisor.
- Assists in general warehouse duties upon completing delivery route.
