About The Position

Major Food Distributor located in Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx is looking for a Full-Time Warehouse Day Receiver. Position Summary: The Day Shift Receiver is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments using the NRC scanning system. This role ensures all products are properly verified, recorded, and staged in a timely manner to support warehouse operations and inventory accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Receive inbound shipments from vendors and verify against purchase orders and delivery documents Perform NRC scanning to accurately log all received products into the warehouse management system Inspect incoming goods for damages, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues immediately Ensure all items are labeled, dated, and compliant with company and food safety standards Coordinate with office / receiving office during unloading to maintain efficiency and accuracy Stage products in designated receiving or storage areas following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures Communicate receiving discrepancies to supervisors and inventory control teams Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed Follow all safety, OSHA, and company policies at all times NRC Scanning & Receiving Process Duties: Scan all incoming pallets and cases using NRC handheld devices Match scanned items to purchase orders in real-time Identify and correct scanning errors before finalizing receipts Confirm product quantities, item codes, lot numbers, and expiration dates during scanning Ensure all receipts are closed out accurately in the system before end of shift Work closely with inventory control to resolve system discrepancies Qualifications Qualifications: Previous warehouse receiving experience preferred (food distribution experience a plus) Experience with RF/NRC scanning systems required Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment (including refrigerated areas) Basic math and computer skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate pallet jacks (electric/manual) Strong communication and teamwork skills Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee(s) assigned to this position. Requirements
