About The Position

The Warehouse Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in various areas of the facility, including offices, break rooms, bathrooms, and warehouse spaces. This role involves performing heavy cleaning duties, routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The custodian will also report any hazards and assist in pest control measures as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of related work experience.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to solve routine problems.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and janitorial techniques.
• Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work overtime, evenings, or weekends as needed.
• Experience with cleaning equipment such as steamers, floor scrubbers, and carpet cleaners.

Responsibilities

• Keep buildings, grounds, and parking lots clean and orderly.
• Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
• Conduct routine maintenance activities and notify management of repair needs.
• Ensure pest control systems are operating effectively and report issues to the supervisor.
• Remove ice and snow from walkways and parking lots as required.
• Keep company grounds free of litter and debris.
• Report hazards to the shift supervisor and comply with OSHA standards.
• Follow company safety procedures and attendance policy.
• Wash and/or sweep the insides of trailers and/or railcars as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.
