About The Position

The Warehouse Controller is responsible for monitoring the efficient operation of the warehouse on a day-to-day basis. This person will work closely with the Warehouse Logistics Planner to keep up with replenishment, bin inventory levels and sending hourly and daily reports to the Management Team. The Warehouse Controller is also responsible for communicating any anticipated problems or failures that can be mitigated and advising on ways and solutions to improve the process.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of work experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of warehouse experience a plus.
• Must have strong verbal and written skills.
• Must be good with time management and organizational skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment.
• Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture.
• Must be able to work in a cold environment, where the average temperature is 38 degrees.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be proficient in Math.
• Must have basic Computer knowledge.
• Must be able to work overnight/early morning.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 35-50 lbs. continuously.
• Must wear non-slip resistant shoes.
• Ability to learn SAP (Warehouse Management System).
• Ability to clearly communicate in English.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Strong Research and Analytical skills necessary.
• Must be able to work 9pm-6am.

Responsibilities

• Communicate to management daily on an hourly basis the status of all work areas and any recommendations.
• Help resolve any warehouse ground operational issues as they occur to ensure a seamless inventory flow.
• Monitor the (WMS) Warehouse Management Systems.
• Investigate all inventory shortages at the locations where merchandise is being picked and update reports in real time to find a solution.
• Recommend measures to improve the quality of service, the efficiency of the department and the performance of the work team.
• Actively supervise warehouse processes that impact inventory accuracy, control and replenishment.
• Conduct random audits for discrepancies.
• Ensure 'Post Goods Invoices' are generated for any shortages after an allocation wave for the FreshDirect Express locations.
