We are seeking a Warehouse Automation Leader for our First Quality Baby Products site located in Macon, GA . This position will be responsible for overseeing the warehouse automation systems, including Self-Guided vehicles (SGVs) and Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) to ensure safe and efficient operation .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a management field or equivalent years of experience.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Server knowledge and understanding in order to troubleshoot issues.
  • Thorough understanding of system and system logic
  • Advanced knowledge of Warehouse operations
  • Ability to direct and lead personnel
  • Understanding of SAP/MES/EMS/SGV interfaces
  • Basic understanding of electronics including PLCs
  • Advanced computer skills (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
  • 24/7 remote support of the automation operations
  • Ability to read and understand wiring schematics
  • Work with SQL on numerous Database tables

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic maintenance on all warehouse automation equipment including but not limited to: SGVs and conveyors
  • Identifies spare parts inventory needed.
  • Assists Engineers to develop automation function and design specifications.
  • Assists in developing preventative maintenance schedules for all warehouse automation equipment
  • Troubleshoots system issues
  • Reviews performance reports to determine nature and scope of problem
  • Maintains SGV master data for EWM
  • Develops KPIs for system and operator uptime
  • Communicates with and develops automation vendor relations
  • Obtains quotes for repairs and upgrades to equipment
  • Manages day to day operational parameters of systems
  • Writes training materials and SOPs
  • Interviews and trains potential automation personnel
  • Supervises and leads automation personnel
  • Consults on new automation projects for both on-site and for sister companies
  • Represents the Warehouse during new hire orientations
  • Performs survey of the SGV target system
  • SGV Road system layout design and adjustment
  • Responsible for non-exempt performance appraisals
  • Assists with time and attendance record keeping
  • Approves non-exempt vacation and plans for coverage as needed
  • Oversees the SGV work order permit process
