About The Position

The Warehouse Associate supports the CFB by performing a wide range of manual tasks related to the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food products. Responsibilities include order picking, unloading deliveries, repacking products, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring cleanliness and safety throughout the warehouse.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience working in a warehouse and/or distribution center environment as a general warehouse worker or order selector required.
  • Valid Alabama Driver's License
  • Ability to read and perform basic mathematical functions
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, including exposure to temperature extremes.
  • Must adhere to safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to read, count, and write accurately for documentation purposes.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 70 lbs.).
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles and heavy equipment, including forklifts and power pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to work varied hours and days as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Strong commitment to the organization’s mission.
  • Willingness to learn and comply with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Pack partners’ orders and assist with receiving and unloading deliveries.
  • Inspect and store food products accurately and safely on storage racks and pallets.
  • Ensure partners’ food orders are accurate and done in a timely manner.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (with training/certification).
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the warehouse, office, and surrounding areas.
  • Conduct and support regular inventory counts quarterly or as needed.
  • Perform daily checks and routine maintenance on equipment (e.g., fluid levels and batteries).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to food safety and food defense protocols.
  • Assist with any additional duties as assigned by warehouse management.
