About The Position

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Gets cartons and interior packing materials from storage area as necessary. Places corner pads and/or other interior packing parts on wrapped case as directed. Puts correct carton over case and tapes, staples or ties carton in position as required. Closes top flaps, tapes and/or staples. Gets pre-packed glass shelves from glass assembly area and packs with case when necessary. Removed production ticket from wrapping, detaches 1/3 of ticket and attaches remainder to outside carton. Keeps cardboard in carton machine. Must be able to use a miter saw/chop saw. Must be able to read a tape measure. Must be able to load and unload trucks using squeeze lift and/or forklift ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Crate cases as needed on international orders. Make skids for cases. Box and unbox cartons/cases. Prep for was off. This includes taking hardware off of the case and prepping for wash off. Must be able to operate a forklift, a squeeze lift and a lay back machine. Must be able to communicate issues as they arise. Observes plant safety rules. Keeps work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull and bend over the course of 8 hours.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to read a tape measure accurately and use a utility knife.

Nice To Haves

Previous packing experience a plus
Previous experience with forklift or squeeze lift preferred
