About The Position
Conklin Metal Industries is looking for a Warehouse Associate / Material Handler to join our team at our Birmingham branch. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and keeping operations running smoothly. This position involves shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory control, and forklift operation. Experience using RF scan guns and warehouse management systems (WMS) is strongly preferred. Requirements
- Forklift experience required (certification preferred).
- Experience using RF scanners, barcode scanners, or warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred.
- Experience with order picking, shipping and receiving, inventory control, or material handling strongly preferred.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Reliable with strong attendance and a team-first attitude.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to process inventory, track materials, and maintain accurate stock levels.
- Pick, pull, and stage customer orders accurately using pick tickets and RF scan guns.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Prepare materials for delivery and ensure products are secured properly for safe transportation.
- Assist with shipping and receiving operations, including verifying quantities and labeling materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory through proper scanning, organization, and reporting discrepancies.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
- Work closely with warehouse and delivery teams to meet daily operational goals.
