About The Position

As part of the Rampart Supply distribution team, your efforts will help increase operational efficiency and impact customer satisfaction and retention by accurately and safely processing of incoming and outgoing orders. This position performs a variety of Inbound, Outbound, and Support functions as assigned by your Supervisor. These functions may include (but are not limited to) Receiving, Put Away, Order Picking, Order Staging and Shipping, completing Replenishments, Cycle Counts, perform Location Maintenance, or Utility Functions such as Housekeeping or Grounds / Facility Maintenance. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 yrs previous work experience; warehouse experience preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Continuous standing, walking, repetitive use of hands and arms, grasping, lifting 10 lbs or less
  • Frequent bending over, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, pushing or pulling and lifting over 10 lbs to 75 lbs
  • Frequent carrying/moving up to 75 lbs.
  • Occasional sitting, crawling, climbing, balancing, and lifting 76 lbs to over 100 lbs
  • Occasional carrying/moving over 75 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Responsibilities

  • Receive Inside or Outside items / pipe by: Unloading Trucks / Vehicles, use Eclipse to Detail Receive and Stage items.
  • Verifies items received by: Inspecting condition of items Comparing counting/measuring of items to purchase order and packing list Noting discrepancies (e.g. on packing slips, in system)
  • Documents items received or shipped by: Recording amounts of items received or distributed Promptly notifying returns staff with appropriate information regarding returns (e.g. vendor, customer/job, overage/shortage, type of damage)
  • Put Away Inside or Outside items / pipe by: Use Eclipse to Locate and Put Away items to a Primary or Shelf Location.
  • Receives and processes return materials by: Identifying, inspecting, counting, and documenting customer/job return information Promptly notifying returns staff with appropriate information regarding returns Placing materials in inventory Updating inventory counts
  • Fill / Stage / Ship Orders by: Using Eclipse to Assign Various Order Types (KC, OT, OTT, MTR), Pick, Stage, Ship the Order as Required. Observe all order notes and fulfill order as detailed in the SO.
  • Prepares orders/shipments and ensures orders are protected from damage during transport or unloading by: Pulling materials and/or assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping areas Packing or re-packing boxes, palletizing orders, bundling and/or banding pipe, shrink wrapping pallets/crates Meeting customer’s specifications Verifying identifying information and quantity and condition of items Promptly completing shipping documents
  • Loading trucks by: Analyzing delivery routes, box, pallet, and materials sizes, customer location, customer preference for efficient, effective, and safe handling, transport, and unloading of deliveries Installing protective devices, such as bracing, padding, strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported and unloaded
  • Complete Support Functions by: Completing Replenishments, Cycle Counts, Maintain Locations, Complete Housekeeping tasks, assist in Building and Area Maintenance as assigned.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by: Keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; remove debris, sweep, dust and mop. Maintaining a clean work area (cleaning as you go) Assists in organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times Wearing the proper safety equipment. Ensuring supplies and equipment are in good condition Complying with procedures rules, and regulations Reporting any unsafe conditions to your supervisor Yard maintenance
