About The Position

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating various warehouse equipment, managing inventory using WMS and RF scanners, and fulfilling customer orders through picking and packing. Key duties include ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, assisting in shipping and receiving, and conducting regular inventory audits. The role also involves collaboration with supervisors to optimize workflow and may require assisting the carpentry department with tasks such as building crates and using power tools. Physical demands include heavy lifting and standing for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of warehouse management principles.
  • Familiarity with inventory management practices and order fulfillment processes.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and packaging standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Understanding of safety protocols related to materials handling and equipment operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, or order pickers is a plus.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance is beneficial.
  • Carpentry experience, cabinet making and power tools very desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes to load and unload materials.
  • Manage inventory through accurate tracking and control using warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Perform order picking and packing to fulfill customer orders promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving operations, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Assist the carpentry department when needed; assist with kitchen cabinets carpentry, and build sturdy crates for shipping heavy products.
  • May handle electric saws, nail guns and some other hand tools, for tasks as cutting lumber.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy in stock levels.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve efficiency.
  • Utilize RF scanners for tracking inventory movements within the warehouse.
  • Handle heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper materials handling techniques are followed.
  • Participate in packaging operations to prepare products for shipment.
