About The Position

Do you love pets and working in a fast pased environment? Our Pet Distribution Segment is searching for 1st Shift Warehouse Associates in our Phoenix, AZ location. This position is responsible for picking, packing and consolidating orders. If you are dependable, responsible and committed to safety, this may be the job for you! Shift Details: Monday-Friday 6am-2pm or until all work is complete. Occasional overtime my be required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in warehousing/distribution desired; specifically pulling, packing, and consolidating orders.
  • Basic ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, using the English language.
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction, and multiplication).
  • Ability to operate stand-up and/or sit-down fork trucks and electric pallet jacks, preferred.
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp and fine manipulation of equipment using hands are ongoing throughout the work hours.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Exhibit good performance and behavior as measured through indicators such as teamwork, attendance, quality, and productivity.
  • Must have dependable transportation.
  • Candidate must pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Work in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds regularly.
  • Requires individual to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (start early and/or stay until work is complete).

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate stand-up and/or sit-down fork trucks and electric pallet jacks, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Processes transactions utilizing RF technology and/or by identifying items on a paper pick ticket according to bin location, part number, and/or description, or other method used within the facility.
  • Operate powered and manual material handling equipment to pick orders.
  • Use forklift to load and unload materials.
  • Assure that the highest standards are maintained for safety, housekeeping, and compliance with all government and company standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects as assigned by manager.
  • Handle additional tasks necessary to fulfill the needs of the company and the customer as deemed by operations manager.
