Requirements

Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing preferred
Forklift certifications are a plus
Be able to judge distance, color, periphery, and depth
Must be able to read, write, and speak English to follow written and verbal instructions/direction
Work well in a team environment
Accept direction from the shift supervisor
Basic math skills
Lift or carry up to 50 pounds, frequently
Push or pull up to 100 pounds frequently
Stand, walk, handle, reach outward and above shoulder, and squat occasionally
Industrial environment, with occasional exposure to the outdoors
Work near moving mechanical parts
Exposure to fumes or airborne particles
May handle containers of caustic or acidic chemicals after appropriate training and with appropriate PPE
Moderate noise level from forklifts and other equipment

Responsibilities

Shipping Tasks
Unload trucks and receive shipments of finished goods and other supplies and merchandise and place them into inventory
Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies
Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on the invoice or packing slip and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage
Open crates and other containers using hand tools to unpack items received. Inspect shipments for damage and defect
Place items according to established procedures onto racks
Pick finished goods and merchandise according to the shipping schedule
Load trucks for outgoing shipments
Use UPS/FedEx software as needed
Use barcode scanners, related computers, and software
Operate packaging equipment such as shrink wrappers, etc.
Receiving Tasks
Receive shipments of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies and merchandise from vendors according to receiving schedule
Unload and load trucks
Make note of any damaged goods or any other discrepancies and report it to the Supervisor on duty or the Warehouse Manager
Verify that transfer material paperwork is properly prepared with Hazmat descriptions
Pick raw materials and packaging according to production orders
Move materials with a forklift and/or pallet jack
Operate packaging equipment such as shrink wrappers, etc.
Maintain computerized inventory records, take physical inventory counts periodically, and check against inventory control totals using a computer.
General facility housekeeping tasks
Other duties as assigned
