About The Position

We are currently seeking candidates for a Warehouse Associate position at our Knoxville, TN Branch. An ideal candidate would have FORKLIFT experience (not a forklift-only position), the ability to work Monday-Friday, typically from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm (must be available & willing to work overtime). Our founding dates to 1874 and is now in its fourth generation as a family owned and operated business. We service the entire southeastern U.S. out of 18 warehouses. Our customers include sheet metal contractors, mechanical contractors, duct fabricators, residential/multi-family new construction contractors, and HVAC contractors who specialize in service and replacements. We are a one stop shop for every component used in the construction and installation of a commercial or residential HVAC Duct system. This includes the sheet metal for the rectangular or spiral/round duct, plus all the materials to connect, fasten, insulate, attenuate sound, control vibration, reinforce, direct air flow, provide access, and ultimately hang and seal. We also stock the widest array of sheet metal forming machinery in the southeast.

Requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and working primarily standing
Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized warehouse
Experience using a forklift is required and professional forklift certification is preferred
Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance
Ability to work a somewhat variable shift based on workload each day.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures based on weather changes.
Can you pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check upon receiving an offer?
Warehouse experience: 2 years (Required)

Responsibilities

Verify all incoming shipments to be accurate by comparing the invoice to the order and ensure all goods are in excellent condition
Ensure all paperwork is filled out and processed properly.
Organize stock and merchandise within the warehouse
Ensure Safety Protocols and Procedures are followed and maintain safe storage in all racking.
Monitor and report any missing or lost inventory to management
Properly pull, stage, pack and load outgoing deliveries and transfers, ensuring product is not damaged in the process.
Load and secure trucks by DOT and Conklin Metal Standards, ensuring safe transportation of goods that does not damage product.
Organize and sort items on shelving, bins, and overhangs according to company standards
Maintain a clean and well-organized warehouse and workplace.
