Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Must have forklift training.
- Ability to drive large warehouse equipment safely and within OSHA and KPS guidelines.
- Lift/carry/push/pull heavy material or equipment (up to 75 lbs.).
- Ability to climb stairs, descend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel.
- Climb up and down a 12 foot ladder.
Responsibilities
- Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking in products, matching purchase orders to sales orders.
- Read customer orders, transfer orders, or shipping requests to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
- Sort and place materials on racks/shelves/bins according to bin location.
- File paperwork related to customer orders, purchase orders, receiving, shipping, and transfers in appropriate designated area.
- Ensure the warehouse is accessible, clean, organized, and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
- Clearly mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via computer operating system.
- Use proper weighing methods for shipment information when freight goes UPS or LTL.
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed (trash removal, general cleaning).
- Complete, fill, and ship transfer requests as needed from other branches.
- Prepare parcels for shipment via LTL or UPS.
