GENERAL SUMMARY The Warehouse Associate will receive incoming donations, and sort and process merchandise according to proper procedure. Duties include maintaining cleanliness of warehouse(s) and surrounding areas, including but not limited to, restrooms, donation sorting areas, storage areas and grounds. Responsibilities in the Donation Drop Off area include receive incoming merchandise and food donations, accordingly, sorting and processing them for the appropriate places, foster long-lasting relationship and educate donors regarding our programs and services. Requirements

• Must be trustworthy, work well in a team environment, and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
• The ability to work safely and co-operatively in a variety of situations with a variety of team members is essential.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: No experience necessary, will train.
• Travel Demands: Flexibility in work hours; this position requires some overtime and ability to work on some holidays.
• Confidentiality: Works with confidential information.
• Mental/Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities.
• Physical Demands: This position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending and stooping for long periods. The employee is required to handle, feel and/or reach with hands and arms and must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Working Areas: Warehouse(s) and surrounding exterior and interior areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of professionalism, including (but not limited to) safety, courtesy, and positive communication; ensure that other staff members do the same.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of warehouse(s), sorting area(s), storage container(s), restroom(s) and other surrounding areas; light grounds keeping may be required.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the commercial waste receptacle area, including the breaking down of large unsalable items and placing neatly into appropriate receptacles.
• Responsible for the movement of processed and unprocessed donations and other items between warehouses and storage areas.
• Required to operate heavy equipment; will be trained and certified as needed.
• Assist warehouse staff with the loading and unloading of donated items, ensuring that they remain undamaged and are placed in the correct position and location.
• Work closely with the Warehouse Assistant Manager and assist with daily duties.
