The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the physical and system-level control of all raw materials, WIP transactions, and finished goods within the Manufacturing branch. This role ensures real-time inventory accuracy, proper material issuance to production orders, and timely completion and shipment transactions to support accurate WIP costing, revenue recognition, and invoicing. This position is the single owner of inventory movement transactions between Purchasing and Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing inventory control or materials management.
  • Strong understanding of ERP-based inventory transactions (Epicor P21 preferred).
  • Working knowledge of production orders, WIP, and cost flow.
  • High attention to detail and transactional discipline.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Purchasing, Shipping, and Accounting.
  • Physically capable of handling materials and working in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive all purchased materials against approved Purchase Orders.
  • Physically inspect, count, and verify incoming materials.
  • Accurately receive materials into Epicor P21, ensuring: Correct part numbers Correct quantities Correct locations and cost layers
  • Label, store, and organize materials in designated inventory locations.
  • Perform routine cycle counts per defined schedule.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Coordinate inventory adjustments with Production Manager and Accounting.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy sufficient to support financial reporting and audits.
  • Receive pick tickets from the Production Manager.
  • Pull required materials from inventory for active production orders.(Kitting process)
  • Issue materials in Epicor P21 directly to the correct production order.
  • Deliver materials to the appropriate work center or staging area.
  • Ensure all material issues are transacted to support accurate: WIP costing Expected vs. recognized revenue reporting
  • Receive completed production orders from Manufacturing.
  • Verify quantities and completion status.
  • Receive finished goods into inventory in Epicor P21.
  • Ensure proper inventory location and status assignment.
  • Issue completed production orders from inventory to the corresponding Sales Order.
  • Create and process packing slips in Epicor P21.
  • Coordinate shipment documentation.
  • Submit completed packing slips and required paperwork to Accounts Receivable to trigger invoicing.
  • Ensure transaction timing supports correct revenue recognition
