About The Position

This position may be a dual position for both the shipping and the receiving departments. Therefore, the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is essential. This position will currently be scheduled 15 - 25 hours/week - flexibility is required as the scheduled hours will vary daily/weekly/seasonally. (Scheduled hours will generally be between 9am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday and Saturdays 9am - 3:30pm. Occasional Sundays during peak seasons) Experience on Fork Lift Trucks and/or Order Picker Lift Trucks is a PLUS but not required. This role will be based at our new warehouse located at 2750 Ellis Drive, Joliet, IL 60433

Requirements

Any warehouse/shipping & receiving experience is a plus, but not required (we are open to entry-level candidates with no warehouse experience)
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Ability to read and write.
Record maintenance skills.
Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
Ability to receive, track and distribute materials, supplies and equipment.
Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
Ability to read, sort, check, count and verify numbers.
Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.
Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates, including some weekends

Nice To Haves

Experience on Fork Lift Trucks and/or Order Picker Lift Trucks is a PLUS but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
Checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisors and/or purchasing personnel.
Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
May maintain the department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machines; may operate company vehicles to deliver shipments; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarms.
Follows established departmental policies, and objectives, continuous improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
