About The Position

Koopman Lumber Company is seeking a reliable and experienced Building Materials Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations at our Sutton Distribution Center. This role involves shipping and receiving, material handling, inventory control, and the safe operation of warehouse equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with BiSTRACK and a working knowledge of cabinets, windows, and doors. This is a warehouse-focused position designed for individuals with hands-on experience in building materials and distribution environments. We are looking for dependable professionals who can step into our operation with minimal ramp-up, contribute immediately, and help strengthen our warehouse team as we continue to grow. Requirements

  • Experience operating electric pallet jacks, electric forklifts, and stand-up reach trucks
  • Experience loading and unloading box trucks
  • Shipping and receiving experience
  • Working knowledge of BiSTRACK or similar inventory/ERP systems
  • Knowledge of cabinets, windows, doors, and building materials
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in an active warehouse environment
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to safety

Nice To Haves

  • Previous lumberyard or building materials industry experience
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)
  • Demonstrated leadership potential or interest in career advancement

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload delivery vehicles, including box trucks, using appropriate material-handling equipment
  • Operate electric pallet jacks, electric forklifts, and stand-up reach trucks safely and efficiently
  • Stage, secure, and organize materials for delivery or customer pickup
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders
  • Accurately enter and update inventory transactions using BiSTRACK
  • Inspect materials for damage, shortages, or quality issues
  • Handle lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, and other building materials safely
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and dock area
  • Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
  • Assist customers, drivers, and team members as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations
