About The Position

AMVAC is looking for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Associate to join our team in Saraland, Alabama. The Warehouse Associate has a crucial role in managing the flow of materials and products within our chemical manufacturing plant. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for shipping and receiving products and equipment, assisting with inventory control and providing forklift support. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to handle chemical products with care. Requirements

  • 1+ year of previous warehouse experience - manufacturing or chemical environment preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Forklift certification (within 45 days of employment) required
  • Team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and follow concise instructions
  • Must have a commitment to safety and environmental compliance
  • Must be able to work weekend and day/night 12 hour rotating shifts, if production needs require
  • Work history of being prompt, dependable and with a good attendance record
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs); wear respirator as required
  • Must participate in random drug tests & monthly blood draw program
  • Pass pre-employment physical, drug test and criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and package product for shipment according to procedures including labeling, stenciling, banding, wrapping and sorting ensuring quality standards are met
  • Receive, store, and distribute materials and products according to established procedures
  • Responsible for inventory management including maintaining accurate records of inventory, shipments, and receipts
  • Enter information into warehouse management systems accurately and in a timely manner
  • Operate forklifts, labeling equipment, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain the warehouse, supply yards and surrounding areas in a clean and organized manner to ensure a safe working environment
  • Inspect the integrity of shipping trailers and other containers before loading and unloading; report hazards to warehouse supervisor
  • Escort vendors and guests as they pertain to the function of the warehouse
  • Follow all safety guidelines; comply with environmental protocols for handling and storing chemicals
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines
  • Work closely with other team members to meet production and shipping deadlines
  • Perform other assignments as necessary and directed by management
