As a Warehouse Associate at Edward Don & Company, you will play a crucial role in the receiving, stocking, preparation, and shipping of merchandise to customers in both local and outlying areas. This position is specifically for the night shift, and you will be expected to operate various equipment, including forklifts and electronic pallet jacks, to efficiently manage inventory and fulfill orders. Your responsibilities will include picking merchandise from designated slots, loading it into trucks, and ensuring that all items are properly prepared for shipment on freight lines. Additionally, you will be tasked with repacking loose merchandise and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The role requires physical stamina, as you will need to lift weights ranging from 40 to 60 pounds repeatedly throughout your shift, along with bending, stooping, climbing, standing, and twisting for extended periods. Occasionally, you may need to lift heavier items, weighing between 70 to 100 pounds. To succeed in this position, you must be able to complete forklift training and certification requirements successfully. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for collaborating with team members and ensuring smooth operations within the warehouse. This role is vital to the overall efficiency of our distribution process, and your contributions will directly impact our ability to serve our diverse clientele, which includes independent restaurants, national chains, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions.
