About The Position

Our Distribution Centers utilize state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated team to provide Columbia Sportswear Company a competitive advantage in distribution. Teams are responsible for shipping millions of units of apparel, footwear, and equipment annually within the family of brands. Accurate order fulfillment and on-time shipments are the hallmarks of our facility. As a Warehouse Associate, you will contribute to the distribution of products from Columbia Sportswear Company’s Distribution Center by ensuring our products are received, labeled, inventoried, and shipped according to customer expectations and demands. The Warehouse Associate I may load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility, process product for shipment to our consumers, and utilize pallet jacks, forklifts, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move products.

Requirements

  • Experienced working in an industrial setting, preferred.
  • Self-driven and a self-starter who takes initiative and has a proven ability to deliver consistent results.
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours including overtime as the business needs dictate including swing, night, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to access all areas and levels of the distribution center.
  • Able to complete first week of training during a day shift schedule.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English.
  • The physical ability to use telephone, computer, and keyboard equipment, move freely around the distribution center, stoop, sit, and crouch for extended periods.
  • The ability to regularly lift and carry up to 40+ pounds and push up to 80 pounds.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time on concrete.
  • Possess basic computer skills or ability to be trained on the computer.

Responsibilities

  • Receives incoming products and affixes proper labeling.
  • Makes boxes according to pick labels, loads them on the cart, and picks them to the appropriate box.
  • Unloads cases from the pick cart and verifies the accuracy of packing.
  • Seals cartons and sends to shipping.
  • Disposes of empty cartons.
  • Maintains accuracy and attention to detail while using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure accountabilities for all units.
  • May operate manual or automated material handling equipment to move products.
  • Maintains positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff, and other departments to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.
