About The Position

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for manifesting and loading outbound shipments for customers and unloading and manifesting inbound loads from the SAN Wet Plant. This role involves entering necessary information according to company requirements and ensuring that all processes are followed accurately.

Requirements

  • Preferred experience in shipping and receiving, working with large moving equipment.
  • Minimum education: Must be able to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic math.
  • Must be able to obtain and pass a company-issued annual written and driving forklift test.

  • Preference for experience in Warehouse Shipping and/or Receiving.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming trailers into appropriate locations and perform 100% inspection of pallets and products.
  • Complete manual paperwork of inspection and submit paperwork printed from RFGEN showing trailer is empty and product is in the correct location.
  • Make adjustments in RFGEN as needed and fill out paperwork for management.
  • Consolidate and combine lot numbers using RFGEN to manage partial pallets.
  • Pick loads using RFGEN to find the oldest product in the warehouse (FEFO) and match with the correct trailer number and order.
  • Count pallets to ensure the order picked is correct and stage load for inspection.
  • Inspect load thoroughly and print BOL and packing slips, selecting the correct pallet type, trailer number, and customer.
  • Apply customer labels to each specific pallet and load trailer to the correct pattern based on customer requirements.
  • Secure loads using airbags, straps, and load bars, and create and place labels on pallets to be scanned into the system.
  • Verify all paperwork and ensure documents match the product on pallets.
  • Enter necessary information concerning pallets, product types, counts, and trailer numbers into the computer to generate bills of lading.
  • Perform 100% inspection of pallets and check trailers upon arrival to verify that pallets match the load on the computer.
  • Assure pallets are scanned with proper case counts, weights, and dates before loading onto trucks.
  • Assist with ensuring that the wrapping machine is working properly.
  • Participate as a member of the team in ongoing development and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
  • Attend appropriate team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues.
  • Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and work with the team to resolve issues.
  • Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
  • Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
