About The Position

Job Summary: The Warehouse Associate – Pipe. Perform any loading and unloading inside or outside requiring heavy equipment that Agru America provides to ensure operations of the plant. Ensures lift trucks and work areas are in a safe condition and perform pre-load/unload safety checks as well as daily lift truck inspections. Accurately completes requests for quotes, bill of ladings and any shipping related documentation in a timely manner, as well as, the additional job duties listed below.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience working in a warehouse utilizing a forklift, overhead crane, or other heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and safely
  • Ability to troubleshoot and multitask.
  • Maintains situational awareness when operating heavy machinery; communicates well with team members and assists team members with accident avoidance.
  • Team player who is reliable and trustworthy.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • High School diploma / GED, required
  • 4 years’ experience with forklift in shipping/warehouse environment, required.
  • Maintains an active forklift license.
  • Ability to work on feet for 8+ hours
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or completion of a Certificate in manufacturing, science, machine tool technology, welding, industrial technology, or other related area, preferred
  • Previous experience in maintenance in a plastics/textile manufacturer, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and schedules inbound and outbound freight from a variety of shipping mediums to include but not limited to: FTL, LTL and containers.
  • Assists customer service and sales teams with shipment quotes and pricing estimates for orders.
  • Performs trailer safety inspections prior to loading/unloading any materials. Addresses any concerns with the truck driver/ carrier and ensures the issues are resolved prior to loading.
  • Works collaboratively and professionally with management shipping team, customer service, shipping carriers and sales team to advise of shipping schedules, estimated product arrivals and any potential delays/ issues with such.
  • Immediately reports any lift truck safety or mechanical issues to the Maintenance team and Management team for repair and removes lift truck from in use fleet until repaired
  • Understands all components of any available lift trucks or related equipment and able to safely navigate a variety of tight shipping/warehouse environments without causing damage to product, equipment or others.
  • Maintains an environment of safety, teamwork, and communication and comply with all safety standards.
  • Informs the Management about: product problems, shipping loading/unloading problems, shipping status, equipment problems and safety concerns.
  • Able to back up warehouse associates and production employees in geosynthetics, fittings and pipe plants.
  • Able to safely and accurately transport multiple types of material utilizing more than one type of forklift/scissor lift and picking all materials/products required for shipping or production needs.
  • Verifies correct material type, location, and product quantity with order acknowledgement.
  • Ensures proper product stacking within warehouse, plant, yard and transport vehicles.
  • Proper care of equipment & notifies Plant Manager if equipment needs service.
  • Loading & Unloading product onto/out of trucks
  • Utilizing a scanner
  • Follow directions and complete orders on time
  • Any other duties that the Company in its sole discretion may assign as needed.
