About The Position

S&S Tire, a leading multi-location regional wholesale tire dealer, is seeking to add a warehouse associate/backup driver. This position requires manual labor, lifting tires up to 150 lbs. Duties performed in this position include, but are not limited to: Warehouse Receiver tasks, which involve loading, unloading, checking, and tallying tires to and from carriers (trailer trucks). The associate will select, pack, count, mark, and palletize tires of customer orders and place them in the assigned staging areas according to the bin locator system. The role also includes checking and verifying the accuracy of selecting, packing, weighing, marking, and counting of tires for customer orders. The associate may operate order pickers, pallet jacks, and other equipment in the execution of duties while ensuring safety guidelines are met. Additionally, the associate will participate in cycle and/or annual physical inventories and maintain compliance with procedures and policies. Driver tasks include providing excellent customer service, safely operating a 16' to 28' box truck for delivery of products, making collections from customers for merchandise delivered on a Cash on Delivery basis, and ensuring good mechanical operation of the vehicle. The associate will perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and complete all driver and vehicle maintenance logs.

Requirements

• Desire and ability to work in a warehouse environment
• Ability to lift and/or move tires with or without mechanical assistance
• Frequent bending, twisting and lifting
• Proper placement of received products in warehouse
• Proper placement of shipping products in warehouse
• Willingness and ability to operate all warehouse related equipment
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable driving experience
• Good safety record (no more than 3 violations in the last 3 years)
• Valid driver's license - in good standing
• Forklift license is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service oriented environment
• Attention to detail
• Commitment to being on time
• High School diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Make list of prospective customers along the designated route
• Ensure good mechanical operation of vehicle
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report operating problems
• Complete all driver and vehicle maintenance logs
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested
