As a Tangent Warehouse employee, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring that our ‘poly’ lumber products are received, stored, and distributed accurately and safely. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks, including inventory management, order picking, packing, loading/unloading, delivering and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

  • Receive incoming building products and materials, inspecting for damage and verify quantities against invoices or shipping documents.
  • Label and categorize items, ensuring they are stored in the appropriate locations within the warehouse.
  • Retrieve items from their designated locations based on pick lists or customer orders.
  • Accurately pack and label orders for shipping, ensuring products are protected during transit.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to prioritize urgent orders and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Safely load and unload building products onto delivery trucks and customer vehicles using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting.
  • Ensure proper weight distribution and secure packaging to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Ensure that products are stored in a manner that prevents damage and deterioration.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling of hazardous materials and operating equipment safely.
  • Follow established procedures for material handling and equipment operation to minimize accidents and injuries.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, including packing slips, invoices, and other relevant documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring that aisles and storage areas are clear and free of obstacles.
  • Regularly sweep, clean, and arrange products for efficient access and retrieval.
  • Work collaboratively with other warehouse team members, supervisors, and planning personnel to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
  • Basic math and measurement skills required.
  • Authorization to work in the US.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to stand entire shift.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of forklift experience required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
