Catholic Charities is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-orientated individual to serve as a warehouse assistant at our Distribution Center. The Warehouse Assistant supports the daily operations of Catholic Charities’ Distribution Center by helping to ensure that donations, food products, and supplies are safely received, stored, inventoried, and distributed. This role is essential to maintaining an organized, efficient, and mission-driven warehouse that supports programs across the agency. Working under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Assistant helps track inventory, maintain clean and safe storage areas, and ensure products are properly handled and documented.

  • Receive donations and deliveries promptly and provide receipts to donors.
  • Pull and prepare orders for deliveries as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Record weights and quantities accurately for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Inspect and assess the quality of donated food and materials before storage or distribution.
  • Properly store all in-kind donations and commodities each day, following safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Help monitor and maintain inventory levels; alert supervisor when supplies need replenishment.
  • Keep warehouse spaces organized and labeled by item, date, and category.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment, including the warehouse, loading dock, and storage areas.
  • Assist with light maintenance or repairs related to warehouse equipment or facilities as needed.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and shelving systems (training provided).
  • Collect, enter, and manage inventory or client data accurately in the system of record.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and/or low-income populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Windows-based programs, and ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
  • Demonstrated reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or materials handling preferred.
