About The Position

Christman is a national, employee-owned construction firm offering construction management, general contracting, and design-build services. With over 500 employee-owners, they aim to enhance project outcomes and deliver projects that align with clients' goals through a collaborative, one-team approach. The company's expertise spans multiple market sectors, including healthcare, education, and historic preservation. This seasonal Warehouse Assistant position involves assisting with maintaining warehouse conditions, checking documentation, inspecting loads, reporting defects, maintaining logs, following delivery instructions, checking equipment, securing cargo, following safety procedures, performing basic vehicle maintenance, loading/unloading trucks, repairing tools, preparing orders, driving trucks for deliveries to construction sites, performing basic computer functions, and assisting with vehicle yard maintenance. It is a seasonal position of limited duration, expected to be 2-3 months with potential to extend up to 6 months.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of applicable experience delivering construction tools, materials, and/or equipment.
  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must have basic Construction materials/tools knowledge.
  • Must be able to meet work schedule and attendance standards.
  • Ability to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Must be able to work at a fast and steady pace to meet production goals.
  • Ability to operate large equipment safely.
  • Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug and background screening.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL – Class A License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with maintaining warehouse conditions to a high standard of safety, organization, and cleanliness inside and outside facility.
  • Checks documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Inspects loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
  • Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage.
  • Maintains logs and other documentation, as required.
  • Follows delivery instructions accordingly.
  • Checks condition of trailers and equipment, reporting any issues immediately.
  • Secures cargo for transport, using provided and required equipment.
  • Follows appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods.
  • Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks, including emergency roadside repairs.
  • Loads and unloads trucks utilizing a forklift or other equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains tools and equipment.
  • Prepares orders for delivery.
  • Drives trucks, and delivers orders to construction sites.
  • Performs basic computer functions.
  • Assists with the maintenance of the vehicle yard.
