About The Position

The Warehouse Assistant Manager is responsible for materials management, inventory control and shipping/receiving at one of our established wholesale HVAC distributorships that carries multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies.  The ultimate goal of this role is to successfully manage the daily operations of all facets of the Warehouse.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of warehouse management experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ Warehouse operational experience within the HVAC industry, parts and product lines associated with HVAC, preferably in the operations of a wholesale HVAC equipment supply house.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices
  • Valid forklift certification
  • Strong inventory control and orders fulfilment process
  • Proven success in inventory control
  • Proven success in managing and mentoring other employees.
  • Proficiency in air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level.
  • Ability to prioritize & meet critical deadlines.
  • Must possess the attitude of wanting to learn and grow with our Company.
  • Mechanical or Technical background.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping and inventory control
  • Manage and develop warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage systems for maximum efficiency
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet production and shipping schedules
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, equipment maintenance, and personnel
  • Manage warehouse budget and control operational costs
  • Lead and manage warehouse inventory: Cycle counts, annual physical inventory, as directed by Operations Manager.
  • Supervise and direct warehouse employees’ activities and oversees daily operations
  • Manage customer service requests and resolve issues promptly
  • Manages all aspects of attendance, absence, overtime, and maintains accurate records for own area of responsibility.
  • Perform same duties as a warehouse worker, forklift operator and a selector, as needed
  • Complies with health and safety programs.
  • Serve as the primary lead for all pick-up, shipping and receiving activities.
  • Insure customer service and service areas are maintained to the highest levels for all pick-up and delivery activities.
  • Perform general maintenance on all machinery and equipment on a regular basis according to manufacturer and specifications.
  • Direct and participate in the bin location maintenance of all areas of the Facility.
  • Communicate and train Warehouse personnel on Company policies and procedures regarding the safe and proper movement/handling of any product.
  • Insure proper training of personnel handling Company inventory to be in the most professional manner and to minimize damages and losses; training inclusive of forklift, appliance lift and Driver training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
