About The Position

The Warehouse and Inventory Specialist at Trident Seafoods is responsible for providing logistical support for purchased materials and parts that support vessels and Alaska plants. This role involves managing inventory, overseeing shipping and receiving activities, and ensuring the quality of assets. The specialist will work closely with various stakeholders to resolve inventory discrepancies and optimize purchasing and inventory control procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years in inventory management, shipping/receiving, or related warehouse experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Prior experience with inventory management systems
  • Ability to obtain forklift validation within 30 days of start of employment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory of purchased direct materials and parts used in support of product production.
  • Identify poor quality or inaccurate counts of material and communicate to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and review daily inventory adjustments and changes, creating reports as requested.
  • Analyze significant cycle count adjustments to identify root causes and recommend countermeasures.
  • Assist in the resolution of inventory issues, discrepancies, problem orders, and intercompany transfer issues.
  • Maintain and enhance Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and SAP procurement programs to optimize purchasing and inventory control procedures.
  • Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely move parts to proper locations and load and unload steel trucks as necessary.
  • Assist in the receipt of purchased goods, verifying counts and quality, and completing transactions according to established procedures.
  • Perform incoming freight inspections, document, and communicate known issues in a timely manner.
  • Visually monitor inventory levels and communicate low levels to buyers, schedulers, and others as necessary.
  • Ensure quality control of all goods prior to leaving the warehouse.
