We are currently seeking a dedicated Warehouse and Distribution Manager to join our team at our facility in Virginia Role Overview The Warehouse and Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing and actively engaging in all shipping, receiving, truck loading, order packaging, and general warehouse functions . This role ensures that products are handled safely and efficiently to meet customer expectations while maintaining operational standards

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in distribution and warehousing
  • 4+ years of experience leading and managing a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with ERP databases
  • Forklift certified with experience operating various types, including propane/sit-down, electric order picker, electric single reach, and stand-up counterbalanced
  • Collaborative, able to follow direction independently, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, stand, and walk throughout the duration of the shift
  • Must wear steel-toe, non-slip shoes

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Logistics department to ensure the correct quantity of products is prepared for shipment by established deadlines
  • Plan and book shipments to meet customer delivery expectations while staying within the expense budget
  • Utilize the ERP system to monitor and prepare for all outbound and inbound shipments
  • Plan and oversee truck loading to ensure it is completed safely, timely, and securely
  • Ensure all customer orders are packed neatly and accurately according to company standards
  • Monitor levels of packaging supplies and equipment to ensure they are adequate and operational at all times
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle counts to maintain accuracy
  • Recruit, certify, and train staff members
  • Conduct performance appraisals and identify specific training needs for the team
  • Foster a collaborative environment and be a true "team player"
  • Notify the Plant Manager of any safety, process, or product issues
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules
  • Operate machinery using required protective equipment and maintain all necessary certifications
