Since 2013, our site Unither Manufacturing LLC. based in Rochester (NY), specializes in the manufacture of Blow-Fill-Seal, Liquid Stick-Packs, Pharmaceutical bottles, Tablets and Capsules. It has more than 300 employees. Your role Reporting to the General Manager, North America, JOB SUMMARY: Supervises and manages the daily organization, receiving, storage and shipment, material handling and preparation, internal distribution to production staging areas and warehousing operations for all warehouse site locations. At times, the incumbent may be called upon to execute a diverse range of tasks throughout the department to ensure that all objectives are achieved. Ensures that all required materials are prepared and distributed internally to production. Ensures that shipments of finished goods are coordinated properly to meet deadlines to the company’s Third-Party Logistics Providers (3PL) and Customers. Coordinates cold chain shipments for both inbound and outbound internationally and domestically. The manager is responsible for exporting intermediate and trade products to international customers. The individual is responsible for reviewing the performance of transportation services and making the appropriate decisions to comply with the rules and to serve the customer. They are responsible for maintaining accurate and traceable inventory and keeping all warehouses’ location in compliance with cGMP and other regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
  • Certification in Hazardous Materials & Waste Management and Compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and 8-10 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehousing and distribution that includes importing/exporting pharmaceuticals, chemicals and/or biological materials, or cGMP/GDP environment, including 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license.
  • Must be able to operate all types of materials handling equipment (walkie trucks and three and four wheeled forklift trucks).
  • Must demonstrate visual acuity, color recognition, finger dexterity.
  • The ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Work responsibilities involve chemical and biological agents that have assigned biological and chemical hazards.
  • Sitting approximately 50% of day and standing approximately 50% of day.
  • Work responsibilities may involve repetitive use of the hands through keyboarding, simple grasping and fine manipulation.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
  • Normal office and warehouse environment that may require personal protective equipment and occasional controlled environment work that may require removal of jewelry and cosmetics.
  • Occasionally subjected to weekends, holiday and irregular hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certification or training in Hazardous Materials & Waste Management and Compliance is beneficial but not required.
  • Licensed operator of materials handling equipment preferred or the ability to obtain licenses/certification within the first 6-8 months on the job.
  • Cold chain experience desired
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment preferred.
  • Lab watch Pro or equivalent Temperature Monitoring System is desired.
  • Dangerous Goods Hazardous Materials Transportation Certified (IATA and 49CFR) is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the continuity of production activities by coordinating material flow.
  • Manage physical and WMS/ERP receiving.
  • Manage the supply of the materials to production areas according to the production schedules.
  • Manage customer shipments according to shipping schedules and customer orders.
  • Monitors the cold chain and controlled substances shipping requirements for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Maintains accurate and complete documentation as required by delivery specification and regulations.
  • Reviews the billing of shipments to ensure that the billing is accurate and for proper customers.
  • Ensures documentation regarding exports is completed accurately.
  • Managing waste according to the appropriate channel
  • Verify that information is transitioning efficiently between the warehouse and other departments.
  • Ensure compliance of FIFO (First In First Out) or FEFO (First Expired First Out) as needed
  • Ensure the compliance of the physical storage in quality and quantity with electronic records
  • Optimize storage space based on inventory and location capacity analysis.
  • Conducts accurate record keeping, of inventory, rotation, damaged/destroyed goods.
  • Manage appropriately rejected status material
  • Carry out cycle counts and year-end inventory.
  • Analyze anomalies reported by warehouse associates.
  • Analyze physical and IT inventory discrepancies in compliance with procedures.
  • Ensure the traceability of products internally.
  • Manage destocking and destruction (waste, warehouse damage, etc.) in real time and according to procedures.
  • Manage incoming disputes with carriers.
  • Carry out internal complaints in the event of deviations from internal procedures.
  • Inform the planning department and the various departments in the event of a dispute or discrepancy on receipt of named and unnamed items.
  • Comply with customer specifications for shipments.
  • Ensures area compliance with company policies and all applicable practices, procedures and requirements.
  • Allocated the resources according to the workload needs.
  • Communicate reliably and in real time with the team.
  • Ensure the adequacy between the skills required for your activity and those of your team.
  • Participate in the recruitment of team members.
  • Define training needs.
  • Developing the versatility of the staff
  • Be responsible for the training and empowerment/qualification of the team.
  • Deliver Personnel reviews (Mid and End of Year) on time.
  • Develop and monitor the operating and investment budget of your department in collaboration with Finance and your manager.
  • Manage your department's consumables orders.
  • Consistently enforce company policies
  • Challenge suppliers in collaboration with the purchasing department.
  • Write and update standard and operating procedures related to the activity of your department.
  • Ensure that documentation related to the warehouse activity is up to date.
  • Manage the maintenance of the storage and handling equipment.
  • Quickly process discrepancies, deviations and/or CAPAs
  • Troubleshoot ERP/WMS-related problems and work with the IT organization on problems that need some type of fix or resolution from a system perspective.
  • Define and monitor the key performance indicators with your manager.
  • Manage active supervision of your department.
  • Monitoring indicators daily (CAPA)
  • Analyze and consolidate KPIs once a month.
  • Follow the action plan associated with the indicators.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects of the site.
