About The Position
The position involves various key accountabilities including moving materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas. The employee will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, equipment, and products within the assigned area. Additional tasks may include sweeping floors, cleaning the dock area, and general cleaning of the entire work area. The role also requires assembling customer orders from stock, placing orders on pallets or shelves, or moving orders to the packing station or shipping department. The employee may need to open bales, crates, and other containers, and may operate manual hand tools, including handheld scanners. Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code is also part of the job. Furthermore, the employee is expected to participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace, comply with safety instructions, and cooperate with management in fulfilling legislative obligations. Other duties may be assigned by management.
