To provide an efficient, Courteous and helpful service to Patients, their families and other Professionals when they contact the Ward. To undertake various clerical duties associated with the custody and use of Health Records. This will include all administrative procedures and documentation associated with a patient’s journey through the Service, as outlined in the Patient Access Policy. It is expected that staff will undertake clerical duties relating to any aspect of the service It is expected that staff will be able to demonstrate a significant level of initiative in organising their workload and in taking decisions and action within clearly defined limits. They will also ensure the requirements of role are done in a timely manner. To ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. Advert An opportunity has become available for a Ward Clerk/Receptionist to join our Daycase Surgical ward. The successful candidate will be expected to work afternoon shifts Tuesday to Friday but also to be flexible in covering different shifts if required. The unit is open Monday to Friday 7:00am until 20:00pm. We provide Pre and post-operative care to surgical patients across several specialities including, Orthopaedic, ENT, Maxillo Facial, General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Plastic Surgery and Pain Management. The post holder will play an important role in this dynamic team in regards to forward planning of the ward and patient allocation. You will be part of a team delivering outstanding administrative support to the clinical teams. Applicants will be expected to be organised, hardworking, punctual and welcoming. The ability to work accurately to deadlines and demonstrate effective time management will be essential. The successful applicant should be computer literate and have previous fluency working in a public facing role. Experience of using patient administration systems is an advantage, however training will be provided for the successful applicant. He/she will also possess excellent communication skills as they will have daily interactions with the wider multidisciplinary team.
