About The Position

- The Ward Clerk I position performs routine, non-technical clerical duties in accordance with prescribed standard operating procedures and will perform behavioral technician duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: One (1) year experience in medical or behavioral healthcare setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes by preparing necessary documentation and updating patient information systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, facilitating clear and effective communication.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, tests, and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient patient care.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and correspondence, directing them to appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Support the healthcare team by preparing and distributing daily schedules, reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Monitor and order office supplies, ensuring the ward is adequately stocked and organized.
  • Ability to successfully complete initial and annual Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) physical restraint and verbal de-escalation training
  • Provide general administrative support to the healthcare team, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
