About The Position

Job Summary Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a RN or Physician. The ER Technician assists the work of the Registered Nurse, M.D. and P.A. to meet the needs of patients in order to provide safe, quality care.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred
• Emergency Department or EMT experience preferred
• Current BCLS Certificate

Responsibilities

• Runs specimens to the Laboratory
• Assists with transport to units/radiology
• Answers call lights
• Assists with lab draws (holding child or extremity)
• Assists patients in/out of vehicles
• Places patients on monitors
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and gives positive feedback especially when coaching fellow employees on performance issues.
• Working under the director of the Registered Nurse, the ER Tech assists in patient care activities, maintains department stock, and performs technical duties in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
