A national leader in treatment of heart attack, congestive heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care, ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital is also a pacesetter in Michigan for obstetrics, emergency care, intensive care, controlling infections and organ donation. Under general supervision of department manager performs a variety of general clerical functions for nursing unit including transcribing physicians' orders, maintaining patients' records, routing charts and records, arranging for patient care services (lab tests, x-rays, etc.), answering telephones, answering patient call lights to send appropriate help.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Six weeks to three months of on-the-job training is required to learn the unit's routine, policies, and procedures

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience as a unit/ward clerk
  • Familiarity with computer (order entry) and medical terminology
