About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Walk-in Clinic Physician to provide high-quality, patient-centered medical care in a fast-paced outpatient setting located in Gallup, NM 87301. The physician will deliver comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions for patients of all ages presenting for same-day or unscheduled care. This role emphasizes efficient clinical decision-making, preventive care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and timely services.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of New Mexico.
  • DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic skills, and patient communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely medical assessment and treatment for patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and chronic condition exacerbations.
  • Conduct thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and follow-up care instructions.
  • Provide preventive care, health screenings, and patient education on wellness and disease prevention.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Promote adherence to prescribed treatment plans and follow-up appointments.
  • Ensure culturally sensitive and patient-centered communication.
  • Work closely with nursing staff, medical assistants, and allied health professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care.
  • Refer patients to primary care providers, specialists, or emergency services when clinically indicated.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development activities.
