About The Position

The position involves providing excellent dining service to residents and guests in a community setting. Responsibilities

  • Check floor plan for assigned station and side work.
  • Greet all residents and guests.
  • Assist residents to table and help them fold walkers as needed.
  • Distribute/collect menus.
  • Take meal orders, monitor residents' dietary needs and make menu suggestions accordingly.
  • Assist in the plating and proper portion controls of appetizers, salads, soup, beverages, and desserts.
  • Check the meal to ensure that it is appetizing in appearance and aroma before serving.
  • Serve meals and beverages to residents, ensuring accuracy and promptness.
  • Monitor residents' eating habits and report anything unusual to the Director of Wellness.
  • Check back to tables after the meal is served to ensure satisfaction.
  • Watch for residents' cues and non-verbal communication to anticipate their needs.
  • Respond promptly to special requests and dietary preferences.
  • Respond to resident questions about the food and report to the Chef if necessary.
  • Set and clear tables, ensuring cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
  • Inspect table settings for cleanliness and replace items as necessary.
  • Bus tables at the end of the meal and carry soiled dishes to the wash area.
  • Re-set tables completely, including wiping down vases and changing tablecloths.
  • Ensure condiments and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and guests.
  • Develop positive relationships with residents, addressing them by name.
  • Familiarize yourself with the daily menu and dietary restrictions.
  • Assist residents in making informed choices about menu items.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure accurate communication of orders.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth flow of service.
  • Assist other employees in their assignments when available.
  • Recognize staffing needs and volunteer to fill open shifts.
  • Follow hygiene and safety protocols in the dining area.
  • Adhere to food handling guidelines and ensure proper sanitation.
  • Follow proper storage practices for food items.
  • Detect and address any unpleasant odors in the dining area.
  • Clean and sanitize various kitchen and dining equipment.
  • Vacuum floors and mats, sweep service area, and remove trash.
  • Complete special cleaning jobs based on schedules.
  • Foster a sense of community by engaging with residents.
  • Promote social interaction during mealtimes.
  • Support the organization of special events and celebrations.
  • Wear proper and clean company uniform.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
