About The Position

We are looking for candidates to join the Lake Vista Cafe team! Our seasonal and relaxed caf is located on the rooftop of the Monona Terrace with a splendid view of Lake Monona. Candidates must be available on weekends. Employees of Lake Vista Caf are expected to be friendly, punctual, fun, energetic, and service-oriented individuals who can handle a fast-paced environment. Prior restaurant experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate to join our team. As this is a seasonal position, we ask that staff not request extended periods off, such as two weeks or more. Applicants must be available from early May to the end of September. If you are a college student, we understand that when school starts, you will have to reduce your availability. Join us from mid-May to the end of September, Tuesday through Sunday, from 11 am to 7 pm. Plus, dont miss our extended hours during Concerts on the Rooftop and Dane Dances. Personal appearance standards apply, including neatly trimmed facial hair and discreet facial piercings. Discounted parking is available. A portion of your uniform is provided. Your meal is provided. You can fill out an application in the Catering Offices located inside the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. POSITION SUMMARY: Each member of the concession team is responsible for preparing quality concession items and courteously serving these items to the public in exchange for cash. He/she is also responsible for stocking and cleaning the concession stand.

Responsibilities

Quickly and neatly wait on customers.
Properly ring items at the cash register and take cash from the customers staying within our cash handling limits (+ 1%).
Prepare quality food and drink items for sale.
Stock the concession stand.
Clean the concession stand.
Work as a team with the other members in the concession department and all other departments, including but not limited to Madison City employees working in this building.
Courteously communicate with customers and coworkers.
