The position involves taking meal orders and serving assisted living residents during evening service. The role requires a friendly disposition and the ability to respond quickly to requests, ensuring a pleasant dining experience for residents.
Responsibilities
Bring waters to residents, introduce yourself, and offer drinks and coffee.
Inform residents of the daily special, take their orders, and confirm food orders.
Communicate orders to the cook.
Dish up desserts and set them aside while the cook fills the order.
Refill drinks and clear away dishes.
Serve food orders and provide drink refills.
Clear dishes and reset tables.
Prepare items such as citrus fruit, cottage cheese, applesauce, condiments, and salad dressings.
Run dishes through the machine as they are cleared.
Ensure all dishes and the area are cleaned before leaving.
Clean the walk-in cooler.
Store all dishes clean, dry, and in the proper place.
Prepare all items for the next shift.
Requirements
Happy disposition and quick to respond to requests.
Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and follow sanitation rules and regulations.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Willingness to attend all in-service training sessions.
Interest in upgrading the food service department.
Ability to work weekends to fill in for shift shortages.
Initiative to see tasks that need to be done and complete them, such as cleaning and assisting other staff members.
