About The Position

The Wage Agency Instructor is responsible for providing training for the Extension Program (Law) anywhere in the state of Texas, primarily in Region 1. This position may perform online and/or classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and/or provide technical assistance in a specialty area. The instructor will utilize their knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to help maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction. The instructor will assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content, when necessary, to meet learner’s needs. We are looking to build a statewide network of instructors, so this position requires residency within the region. The instructor will report to the Agency Regional Manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Four years commissioned as a Texas peace officer.
• Two years of teaching experience.
• Must have a TCOLE Basic Instructor Certificate/Proficiency.
• Must have a current Texas peace officer's license.
• Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Equivalency: Will consider a bachelor’s degree in a law enforcement related field or an associate’s degree in a law enforcement related field and two years commissioned as a Texas peace officer.
