About The Position

The Wafer Sustaining Engineering team supports the day-to-day factory operations for Seagate's recording head manufacturing. We solve problems impacting multiple products and toolsets by collaborating with a diverse group of individuals and organizations. Our mission is to achieve high product quality while maintaining productivity from the factory.

Requirements

• Thin film wafer factory experience.
• Vocational or Technical Certificate, AAS Degree and/or comparable experience with wafer production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production processes by reading dials, gauges and operator charts.
• Be responsible for monitoring production machines for problems.
• Understand how the equipment is used and can make moderate machine adjustments.
• Monitor special processes being run, adjust, and document results.
• Test new equipment and document the results for engineering.
• Analyze rework/scrap data to determine root cause and corrective action.
• Certify production trainers and perform routine process audits.
• Perform related work as required.
• Work on state-of-the-art projects.
• Work in a team environment, exposed to senior engineers and opportunities to share knowledge and learn from them.
• Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
