About The Position

WABC-TV, the flagship Disney/ABC–owned television station in New York, is the most-watched television station in the New York Television market and the United States! WABC also leads the market in station websites and has the highest social media engagement! This internship is a part-time, six-month commitment in the New York, New York area from June 2026-January 2027. What You Will Do: You will work directly with our Executive Producer and Senior Producer. You will be immersed in all aspects of production: assisting on field shoots, transcribing, and logging taped interviews, researching/fact-checking, and capturing post-production elements such as graphics and music. You will also get the opportunity to work with our Promotions, News, and Art Departments. You will learn the process of how we get our programs on the air. You will also learn about FCC regulations, music rights, and licensing. At the end of this internship, you will have a good idea of where your area of interest truly lies and will learn the skills vital to make it in the television business.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with video production
  • An interest in being a part of a fast-paced agile organization
  • Attention to detail, and demonstrated strong organizational skills
  • Proven ability to partner effectively and work in a team environment
  • Active interest in TV/entertainment supported by relevant experience, coursework, or industry awareness
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from June 2026 through January 2027
  • Available to work 24 hours during a Monday through Friday work week for the duration of the internship.
  • Intern must have availability on Wednesdays throughout the internship (9:30 am - 5:30 pm).
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work in the New York, New York area
